Recommended Accessories

To ensure a smooth integration and operation of your Linkerbot dexterous hands, we recommend several key accessories. These items have been identified as essential during typical laboratory deployments.

Hardware & Electrical

  • Certified Power Supply: A high-quality, regulated DC power supply is critical. It must match the specific voltage and current requirements ([VENDOR_SPEC_REQUIRED]) of your hand model (L20 Lite, L20, or L30) to prevent brownouts during high-torque grasps.
  • Emergency Stop Switch: Required for all demos and workshops. This should be an external hardware cutoff that immediately severs power to the hand motors, independent of the robot arm's safety system.
  • Shielded Communication Cable: Essential for reliable CAN/CAN FD or RS-485 communication. Keep at least two on hand (one active, one spare) as cables routed along robotic arms are subject to wear.

Mounting & Tooling

  • Robot Flange Adapter: A custom mechanical plate required to mate the Linkerbot wrist pattern to your specific robot arm (e.g., UR5e, Franka Panda).
  • Torque Screwdriver: Required for repeatable, secure mounting of the hand to the adapter plate and flange. Ensuring correct torque prevents loosening during high-acceleration maneuvers.

Testing & Demonstration

  • Demo Object Kit: A standardized set of objects (bolts, bottles, cups, foam blocks) for testing grasps, validating teleoperation, and showcasing the hand's capabilities in a repeatable manner.
